"Notorious" was born of a time that found me out of a job due
to politics. I'd not experience to side-step, out of my studio when rent
doubled in a week, and in the midst of the break-up of a five year
relationship.
I began to realize the optimist in me had all but been extinguished, so I
decided to 're-program' myself back to the positive. I set the alarm on
the first consumer cell phone camera to ring every sixty minutes and
for a year pushed myself to take a photo of "beauty" every waking
hour.
Daily there were moments I detested the premise and doubted the
validity of this exploration. Daily there were moments it all came
together in my mind. I tried to quit. Often, I've been a lot of things, but
never one to quit, even when it might be in my best interest to do so.
