Molly (Oct 5) …Equality. 400 Occupy Oakland demonstrators arrested January 28, 2012 were fired upon, beaten, kettled, and trapped by Oakland riot police during a planned demonstration dubbed “Move-In Day,” to re-purpose the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center. Shuttered for six years and with no plans for use, the building was to be transformed into a community center for housing, medical and convergence facilities. Molly was struck in the forehead by a police baton during this peaceful demonstration and community action the day before this photo.
