NATO (The North Atlantic Treaty Organization) was created during the cold war which was over 20 years ago. The 28 member countries no longer have a mandate, having become the military arm for the G8 - the global 1% - are responsible for the death and destruction of innocent civilians. worldwide. NATO is comprised of self-appointed representatives that we did not elect, and our tax payer money is going to fund their military decisions of intervention and violence that we have no control over. They meet behind closed doors and design the military-related future for the entire world in an un-democratic manner. The tax dollars that go to fund them should go to support our social services - a fraction of over 800 billion dollars the United States has given NATO could be better spent in our own communities to save our schools, clinics, and libraries and to pay our teachers adequately.
